Cabina is an AI styling app that helps you build outfits from the wardrobe you already own. Cabina is operated by Life Lift, LLC, a U.S. limited liability company, and is the data controller for any personal information processed through the Service. We take privacy seriously — most of your personal data never leaves your device. This page explains what we collect, what we don't, and how to reach us.

How your photos are handled

What we process via third-party AI

To classify garments and generate styling output, photos you upload are sent transiently to Google's Gemini API. Google processes the image to produce structured metadata and styling responses, then Cabina stores only the metadata locally on your device. Requests travel through Cabina's own relay servers (which hold the AI credentials so they never ship in the app); the relay briefly caches processing results — the derived text metadata, never your photos — to avoid re-charging you for identical work. Google's processing is governed by their privacy policy.

When you share

Sharing is different: when you choose to send an outfit or try-on to someone, the things you're sharing have to travel through our servers to reach them. Specifically, when you create a share link, small preview images of the items and — if you include it — your try-on photo are uploaded to our storage and served to anyone who opens that link. Shared images are automatically deleted after 60 days; the outfit's descriptive data (item types, colors) is kept so old links keep working. Only content you explicitly share is ever uploaded — nothing leaves your device on its own.

To make sharing rewards work (for example, earning a free try-on when a friend uses one you sent), our server associates shares with a random install identifier generated by the app. This identifier is not derived from your device, name, email, or any account — it identifies an installation of Cabina, not a person, and we cannot connect it to your identity. We also use it to enforce fair-use limits on AI processing.

Anonymous usage statistics

Once per week when you open the app, Cabina sends a small, anonymous summary to our server. This summary contains things like which style archetypes you've voted on (liked, passed, or never shown), how many items are in your closet, and how often you've used certain features. Each summary is identified only by a random ID that expires within 24 hours.

We use this anonymous data to:

The summary contains no information that can identify you, your device, or your network: no name, email, device ID, advertising identifier, or IP address (our server does not log IP addresses). Because of this, in Apple's App Privacy nutrition label this falls under “Data Not Linked to You.”

Affiliate shopping links

When you tap a Shop button on a clothing item, we may direct you to a retailer such as Amazon through an affiliate link. If you make a purchase, the retailer may pay us a small commission — at no extra cost to you. The first time you tap such a link in the app, we show you a brief disclosure to that effect.

Cabina is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program. We do not share any information about you with affiliate retailers; tapping a Shop button opens the retailer's website directly, and that retailer's own privacy policy applies once you arrive there.

What we don't collect

Purchases & diagnostics

Cabina has no accounts — you never give us a name, email, or password. Purchases (subscriptions and try-on packs) are processed by Apple's App Store; we never see your payment details. We use RevenueCat to validate purchases and manage subscription state, keyed to an anonymous identifier — not your identity. We use Firebase Crashlytics for crash reporting: if the app crashes, an anonymized technical report (device model, OS version, stack trace) helps us fix it. We include no advertising SDKs and no cross-app tracking of any kind.

iCloud backup

To protect your closet if your phone is lost or the app is reinstalled, Cabina can automatically back up your data — your items, photos, outfits, and preferences — to your own iCloud storage. This backup lives in your personal iCloud account, under Apple's protection; it never touches our servers, and we cannot see or access it. It uses your device's existing iCloud session — Cabina never asks you to sign in and never sees your Apple credentials. You can turn the backup off at any time in the app's Settings, and you can remove the stored data from your iCloud in iOS Settings. If iCloud is unavailable on your device, the feature simply stays off.

Your rights

Because your data lives on your device, you're already in control of it. You can erase everything — closet, photos, history, preferences — at any time from the app's Settings. Deleting the app deletes the data on your device; if iCloud backup is on, the copy in your personal iCloud remains yours — restore it by reinstalling, or remove it in iOS Settings. If you've shared links, their content expires from our storage automatically within 60 days; email us to have any share removed sooner.
